So this is a bit strange.  My intention for this blog originally was to write about my business and the region in which I live.  Yet, through the course of recent events I have decided to make it a more personal blog.  Life has a funny way of leading you to different paths.

Antigua, Guatemala, how have you changed my life?  Over the course of two years I've had my brain crushed and exposed to a world which I never expected.  Antigua is a place where time seems to have stopped and travels at its own leisure.  It's a haven where so many people come to after they have accomplished their endeavors and relax.  Named a Unesco heritage site for its colonial architecture, it does not include the value of the people here, nor the tradition or quality of people.  So many times have I walked its streets and been cheered by the friendliness.  When you greet anyone you can expect an equally friendly greeting.  It's such a refreshing change from a place where you are given strange looks for greeting someone.

Though I will speak of Antigua I will also speak of the ideas that I've learned of the rest of the world.  Innovative and controversial ideas that have been shared with me through the eyes of others.  I feel compelled to share the thoughts which I have come to know.

Recently I visited friends of my family.  Even though they lived in such a humble abode I never knew such peace.   I was welcomed with open arms.  They washed my clothes and fed me with no compulsions.  I am forever grateful for their kindness.  I sat on their porch and saw a scene that I would have never seen.  It's impossible to impart this peace, but I hope it does some justice.
